Democratised roles

plural noun

Roles in which AI makes the work easier for more people to perform, reducing the advantage once supplied by specialist access, training or technical execution.

Also known as AI-democratised roles

Democratised roles are jobs in which AI makes the work easier for more people to perform. A task that once needed specialist software, technical training or a separate hire can be done by an ordinary user with a prompt and a decent afternoon. Access expands and the old barrier around the skill shrinks. That can be genuinely useful. It can also lower the price of the work and cut the number of people paid to do it as a distinct role. Democratisation describes access, not a guarantee that the transition will be fair to the people whose living depended on the barrier.
