Terms and Conditions

Last updated 27 August 2026.

This website is run by Kara Fox, in her own name, from Cape Town, South Africa. Buying a book here means agreeing to what is set out below. It is written plainly on purpose — if anything is unclear, email me and ask before you buy.

There is no company behind this and no shop floor. It is one author selling her own book.

What is sold on this website

One product: Human Still Wins: The Human Soul Skills AI Can’t Replace, a non-fiction book written by Kara Fox. It is a physical paperback, 240 pages, ISBN 9798188933364.

It is sold here in one form:

  • A signed paperback, signed by the author and posted from Cape Town to an address in South Africa. This is the only thing you can buy directly on this site, and the only thing this site takes payment for.

The same book is also sold by Amazon, as a paperback and as a Kindle ebook. Those are Amazon’s sales, not mine: their terms, their payment, their delivery, their returns. The links on this site simply point you at their listing. Nothing you buy on Amazon is governed by these terms.

No subscriptions are sold here. No memberships, no courses, no digital downloads, no recurring payments of any kind. Signing up for the newsletter, making a reader account, or entering the key printed in the back of the book are all free, and none of them take payment.

Price and payment

The price of a signed paperback is shown on the order form and is in South African rand, including VAT where it applies. Postage is shown separately before you pay, and the total you are asked to approve is the total you are charged. There are no fees added afterwards.

Payment is taken by a payment provider, not by this website — your card details are never handled or stored here. Depending on what is switched on, that is SnapScan, Yoco or Payfast.

You may order up to five copies in one order. For more than five, email me and we will sort it out properly.

An order is only accepted once payment has actually been received. Until then nothing is reserved, and a price shown on the site is an invitation to buy rather than a binding offer. If something is priced wrongly by mistake, I will contact you before doing anything, and you will not be charged the wrong amount without being asked.

Delivery

Signed copies are posted within South Africa only. If you are outside South Africa, buy the book from Amazon instead — the postage from here would cost more than the book, which is not an offer worth making.

Books are sent by courier to the delivery address you give at checkout. Please give an address where somebody can receive a parcel during working hours, and a phone number, because the courier will often call before delivering.

Orders are usually packed and sent within three working days of payment. Delivery normally takes a further two to five working days depending on where you are.

Those are realistic timings rather than a promise. Once a parcel is with the courier, how long it takes is genuinely out of my hands — a depot delay, a public holiday or a week flattened by load shedding can stretch it, and I have no more influence over that than you do. What I will do is tell you where it is rather than leave you wondering, and chase the courier myself.

If a book is damaged in transit, that is a different matter and it is dealt with: send me a photograph and I will arrange a replacement. See Refunds and cancellations.

If your address changes after you have ordered, email me straight away. If the parcel has not gone yet, I will simply change it.

Refunds and cancellations

These have their own page, because they matter more than the rest of this: Refunds and cancellations.

The free parts of this site

Some material — the sources, the glossary, the interviews, parts of the toolbox — is published free. Some of it opens with a key printed in the back of the book. None of it is sold separately, and access to it is not something you are buying when you buy a book.

The writing on this site is mine and stays mine. Quote it, link to it, argue with it; please do not republish it wholesale as your own.

If something goes wrong

Email me at help@humanstillwins.com or phone 084 814 5555. I answer my own email. There is no support desk, no ticket number and no queue — which means a reply comes from the person who can actually fix it.

Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under South African consumer law, including the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. Where anything here conflicts with those, the law wins.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The terms that apply to your order are the ones published on the day you ordered.
