Millennials walked into work as the smartphone folded communication, information and availability into one glowing object. The job followed them home, the professional self migrated onto platforms, and every new system arrived assuming they would learn it fast and treat the disruption as weather.
They’ve been blamed for everything since; a genuinely unfair pattern. Millennials get discussed as the cause of shifts they were simply told to absorb: continuous reskilling, the ladders with the bottom rungs sawn off, tools that promise autonomy while actually raising how visible and available you have to be. There’s no doubt they’ll pick up the next technology; they always do. The open question is whether they can keep judgement, boundaries and ownership intact while the next platform makes speed feel compulsory.
