Chapter 21. Presence: It’s What They Travel On

Attendance can be recorded; presence has to happen.

The willingness to be attentively in the room with someone, with something at stake.

Presence is active participation in a live exchange: noticing what is really happening, allowing it to disturb the answer you brought in, and responding in a way that changes what happens next.
